A new two-day mountain bike race for 2011 which will consist of a hilly course on the foot hills of Monduli mountain and Mt Meru. The estimated route is 56 kms with elevation gains of 2000 meters – very rough track in places, dust and rocks. There will be two water and banana supply spots – one where the race crosses the main Nairobi highway and another up on Meru following the Mianzini road to where it meets the race track.

RACE INSTRUCTIONS
REGISTRATION is now moved to SATURDAY 7AM at the SARI/TGT turnoff – see below.
THE SATURDAY STAGE will start at the TPRI turnoff on the Arusha – Namanga Road.
PLEASE MEET on SATURDAY at the Selian Agricultural Research Institute / Tanzania Game Trackers turn off, just after the Arusha Airport Road at 8AM, and everyone will ride up together to the start:

THE SATURDAY STAGE COURSE will be fully marked and is shown in the map below. Please note that some parts of the course have been occluded in the map below by cloud, and where this happens, the route shown is not exact.

THE SUNDAY STAGE COURSE will start at 9:30 AM and will involve riding as many laps as possible in two hours. The main race will be proceeded by a ½ hour race on a short track for kids – ages 12 and under.
